Here we see in the very first verse of the New Testament that emphasis is placed on Messiah's human lineage. Did you get that? Emphasis is placed on what? Messiah's HUMAN origins!
There is good reason for this since if Messiah was not literally of the lineage of King David he was not, cannot be, and is not Messiah. This was no doubt in the mind of the writer as he began his important record of Messiah Yahshua.
This introductory verse sets the stage for Matthew's primary reason for recording the ancestry of Yahshua. That reason - the theme of his genealogical record of Messiah - was to show Messiah to be a man - a human being - literally descended from both Abraham and King David. He did this because unlike most traditional Christians he knew well the necessity that Messiah be a human being of Davidic ancestry. Do those who wish us to believe that the human Messiah is God think that God descended from King David or Abraham?
If Yahshua is God why didn't Matthew write, "The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ who existed as the eternal God and later placed himself in the world as the son of David and son of Abraham."? It would have been easy for him to begin his gospel account in such a manner and would have removed any confusion.
Parallels Mark 1:10,11 and Luke 3:21,22
Mark 1:10,11 - "10And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: 11And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
Luke 3:21,22 -"21Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Yahshua also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, 22And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased."
When Yahshua was baptized the Spirit descended upon him and the Father spoke from heaven. Since Yahshua was on the earth and The Father was in heaven they are clearly depicted as distinct entities. You need to begin to take note of these subtle - or not so subtle - bits of evidence showing distinction between YHVH (God) and Yahshua. As we seek to show that Yahshua is not YHVH it is important to include in our evidence each such occurrence. I will often appear redundant as I note each of these distinction passages, but I do so realizing they are usually missed by the casual reader of Scripture. I missed it myself for 30 years until I began to earnestly pray to HaShem (God) for removal of all bias and undertook the most exhaustive and sincere series of studies of my life.
One could legitimately present the argument that the Holy Spirit was placed upon Yahshua at his baptism, thus anointing him for his mission. However, the church, despite the plain reading of the Gospel records of Yahshua's baptism and the Messianic Psalm, has historically considered such belief heretical. Of course what the church considers heretical is of less importance to me than what the Scriptures actually say, and such should be the attitude of every sincere seeker of truth.
It is somewhat difficult to understand why YHVH would make such a show of the Spirit visually descending upon Yahshua unless we are to believe that the Spirit left Yahshua just prior to his baptism then returned solely for theatric purposes. However, the precise time of the Holy Spirit indwelling Yahshua is less important to fulfillment of his being the Messiah of prophecy than is the fact that the Holy Spirit was put on him from The Father. The only way to prove Yahshua is Messiah is from the Messianic prophesies found in the Tanakh. If the Spirit was not placed upon him in a public setting so that it could be witnessed, he could not be said to have fulfilled the Messianic prophesies; therefore, had this account not occurred the prophesies in Isaiah 11:2, 42:1 could not have been witnesses as being fulfilled. It is to this that Yahshua possibly refers when he says in verse 15, "Permit it at this time; for in this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness."
Verses from the Tanakh relating to Matthew 3:16,17:
Isa. 11:2 - "2And the spirit of YHVH shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of YHVH;"
Please note from the above verse that "the Spirit of the LORD (YHVH) shall rest upon him...." This implies that the Spirit was not an intrinsic characteristic of Yahshua prior to the time (whenever that might have been) of it resting upon him. We once again see in this a distinction. In this case the distinction is in the Spirit, which had to rest upon the man Yahshua. Other versions use the term "alight" upon him. The fact to note is the need for this separate and distinct Spirit to "alight" upon Yahshua. Common sense and reason given to us by God clearly implies a distinction, and the ability to reason was given to us for us to use.
Isa. 42:1 - "1Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles."
This passage is fulfilled in YHVH's statement, "...in whom I am well pleased," at Yahshua's baptism. The Hebrew word used in Isaiah for "delighteth" is ratsah (raw-tzaw Strong's #7521) and literally means "to be pleased with". The Greek word used in Matthew 3:17 for "well pleased" is eudokeo (yoo-dok-eh'-o Strong's #2106), and means exactly the same thing - "to be pleased with"! You can't be much closer than that! The Hebrew word in Isaiah 42:1 and the Greek word in Matt. 3:17 mean the same thing.
The fulfillment of Isaiah 42:1 at Yahshua's baptism could not be much more precise!
It must be noted that Messiah is called the servant of YHVH. Also, as just discussed, YHVH put His Spirit upon him (Yahshua). Once again there is a distinction shown between YHVH and Yahshua. It is also obvious that the one putting and the one on whom it is put cannot be the same entity. Such common sense observations are often passed through with a preacher's "slight of hand" as the church zealously teaches what Scripture clearly does not say. The point here is that for one to have something put upon him there must be a separate entity doing the "putting"; thus, this passage and the previous make it crystal clear that Yahshua (the putee) and YHVH (the puter) are not the same.
The pronouns show distinction (i.e. my servant...I uphold...I have put...upon him: he shall...). They also show the delight YHVH took in his servant. YHVH delighted in the one on whom He had placed His Spirit - a point that buttresses even more the distinction.
Isa. 42:21 - "21The LORD (YHVH) is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honorable."
Once again realizing the need for redundancy I wish for you to note the fact that the one who is pleased and the one that is pleasing to him cannot be the same. Thus, distinction is shown between the pleased (YHVH) and the one in whom He is pleased (Yahshua). Also, the LORD (YHVH) is pleased for his (Yahshua's) righteousness sake. Distinction, distinction, distinction.........always take note of distinction.
A side note of critical importance is the fact that this passage indicates the Messiah was to magnify the Torah (Law) and make it honorable! The Hebrew word translated "magnify" is gadal (gaw-dal') and means to make great, to cause to grow, to be magnified, and the Hebrew word translated "honorable" is 'adar (aw-dar') and means to make glorious, to make majestic. Since the prophesied Messiah was to do this how can anyone possibly believe Messiah Yahshua would "make great and magnify" Torah by abolishing it? Or how can it be conceived in the mind of anyone that this Messiah would "make glorious and make majestic" Torah by declaring it ended?
According to Is. 42:21, any Messiah that "did away with" the Torah (Law) is a false Messiah since he would not fulfill this clear prophecy. If you consider the Eternal Torah of YHVH to be abolished you are not a follower of the true Messiah that embraced Torah, instead you are a follower of the anti-Messiah (antichrist). It is this very point that rightly causes many knowledgeable Jews to reject the "Christ" preached in churches. Unlike the majority of Christians, they are keenly aware of what the true Messiah's relationship to Torah is and realize the preaching of the abolishment of the Law (Torah) is blatantly unscriptural.
Christianity literally preaches an anti-Messiah message when it teaches Yahshua brought about an end to Torah! Such false teaching is, perhaps, Satan's primary way in which he continually seeks to prevent Israel from recognizing the Messiah. Yahshua and his brethren of the flesh are literally kept apart by false doctrine spread by Christianity! No Jew will ever accept a Messiah (and rightly so) that
Any teaching that is against Torah, is also against Yahshua Messiah, the prophesied Torah promoting and keeping Messiah of Scripture, and is thus the teachings of anti-Messiah (antichrist)! Those that teach Messiah brought an end to Torah are unknowing promoters of the spirit of antichrist (usurper of Messiah) that Satan is using to deceive the world. If you truly feel Torah has been abolished, please read the entire Bible and also note Yahshua's strong pro-Torah stance in the New Testament. Your eternal destiny depends upon you searching for truth. It is your responsibility and yours alone to verify the truth, as did the Bereans in Acts 17.
Isa. 61:1 - "1The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me..."
Ok, here we go again. By now you should be seeing the clear distinction between YHVH and Yahshua. Common sense, necessary inference dictates the one anointing and the one being anointed are separate and distinct entities, as does the Spirit (separate entity) being upon me (Messiah). The fact this Spirit was upon him denotes its origins were outside the one on which it was upon just as the Spirit coming upon and indwelling Yahshua's followers denotes the origin of the Spirit is not from within the believer himself.
Psalms 2:7,8 - "7I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. 8Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession."
This Psalm prophesies of YHVH speaking to the Messiah (Yahshua). When two are in conversation it is generally the rule that the one speaking and the one listening are separate and distinct. Such is the case here. YHVH said, "Thou art my Son..." which shows this distinction in no uncertain terms. If I say to my son "thou art my son" I am certainly not talking to myself! I am talking to my son. A man and his child are not the same entity despite the intoxicated minds of the mystic Constantinian Christian/Messianic/Nazarene leaders that unintentionally promote pagan mysteries. I have no son, but forgive my wishful thinking. Please allow a man to dream, but if I did I would joyously proclaim to others "he is my son (or daughter)" and would not be talking to myself!"
The prophecy of Psalms 2:7 clearly referred to Yahshua's being "begotten". Some will say this occurred at his birth. Some say it happened at his baptism. Paul, however, says in Acts 13:33 that Messiah was officially and fully "begotten" upon his resurrection. I comment in an article on the Son of God that I feel Yahshua went through a PROCESS of becoming the FULL "Son of God" and believe that process was COMPLETED upon his resurrection. Regardless of which theory you support (I personally believe Paul), the following points still apply. YHVH said "this day have I begotten thee". Unless YHVH is lying it is clear the "begetting" did not occur until that instant, and I do not consider YHVH to be an Elohim of lies. That wicked characteristic resides with Satan - the father of lies; therefore, if anyone implies a literal eternal nature for Messiah they conflict directly with this prophecy and others. I ask those of you that are thinking the New Testament proves Yahshua's eternal nature to please continue reading. That misunderstanding will be corrected in depth as we proceed and is covered in some of the articles and links as well.
The fact that Messiah was begotten (born - for lack of a better term) also implies one must give birth. It is a common rule that the one giving birth and the one that is born are separate and distinct. I do not know of any recorded situation where a woman gave birth to herself; yet, Constantinian Christian/Messianic/Nazarene leaders would have us believe a similar impossibility here. Oh yes, one could attempt to argue that YHVH gave birth to Himself at some infinite point in history since He is the Infinite Elohim (God); however, the Scriptures plainly teach YHVH has no origin or time of birth. YHVH is infinite, timeless, and eternal. No matter how far back one cares to imagine - a trillion years or whatever - that point in time is still a tiny span of time compared to infinity. Infinity means timeless and no amount of imagination or 1 followed by zeros can change that. Besides, YHVH said "this day have I begotten (birthed) thee..." thus, the time of Messiah's begetting is fixed. Since his time of being begotten is fixed and YHVH is infinite, having never been "begotten", Yahshua cannot possibly be the YHVH! The one being begotten according to the clear reading of this Messianic Psalm is not eternal since he was begotten that day!
Finally, note how YHVH said "Ask of me, and I shall give thee...for thine inheritance...for thy possession." He was referring to Yahshua the Messiah. Note the pronouns once again. Rules of grammar - be it Hebrew or translated English - dictate the me/I and the thee/thine/thy are separate and distinct entities. Thus, there is a clear distinction between the ONE Elohim and the Anointed One - Messiah Yahshua.
The Book of Psalms in particular, if read in it's entirety, clearly presents repeatedly the Messiah as an obedient, Torah observant servant of HaShem (God) - but NOT as HaShem.
Parallels Mark 1:12-13 and Luke 4:1-12
Mark 1:12-13 - "12And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness. 13And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him."
Luke 4:1-12 - "1And Yahshua being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. 3And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. 4And Yahshua answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. 5And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. 7If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. 8And Yahshua answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. 9And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: 10For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: 11And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 12And Yahshua answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God."
The account of Yahshua's temptation is recorded for us above.
Matthew records Yahshua quoting a passage from Torah (Deuteronomy 6:16) when he responds with "Thou shalt not tempt the LORD thy God." The NASB translation more properly renders this verse, as "You shall not put the Lord your God to the test." Lest one say that this suggest God can be tempted I will endeavor to explain the differences between the temptation of Messiah and "tempting" God.
The temptation of Messiah was of the sort James defines.
Thus, this form of temptation can be described as being enticed to sin. It is obvious from the readings in Matthew and Luke that this was precisely the nature of Satan's temptation of Messiah.
The "tempting" of God, however, has a completely different meaning. It does not involve enticement to sin since God cannot sin. The New American Standard Version (NASB) more correctly renders it as testing God with our sin and thus risking His wrath. We have all seen children "test" their parents by trying to find and perhaps expand the boundaries of permissible behavior beyond which discipline is imposed. Well, this is exactly what "testing" YHWH (God) means. We are commanded, as His children, to not test the limits of His grace (favor) because there ARE LIMITS. This form of "testing" is what God deals with daily as He sees and hears our every thought and action. Indeed, we test God continuously, and we continue to exist solely because "his mercy endureth forever".
Traditional Christianity, by teaching that Yahshua is "God in the flesh," not only teaches that God was "drawn away of his on lust" by being tempted (enticed) to sin, but that He was tempted by evil! Leaders of traditional Christianity and counterfeit Messianism very much imply God WAS tempted since they teach Yahshua the Messiah is God! Thus, Christian pastors and counterfeit Messianic rabbis directly contradict what James says! What most traditional Christian and counterfeit Messianic leaders say occurred is what James says is impossible. Let's see what the verse from James 1:13 says again.
"...For God cannot be tempted with evil..."
So, the grand deceiver through Christian tradition, which is also the basis of counterfeit Messianism, is blatantly promoting God can be:
So by teaching Yahshua is "God in the flesh," most Christian and Messianic leaders (as well as most Christians and Messianics) contradict James in each of the 2 points he makes about God's immunity from temptation!
- Tempted to sin through enticement and lust, and
- Tempted BY evil
Friend, it is a matter of a simple reading of the Scripture and common sense! The fact that Yahshua was tempted even though God cannot be tempted should disprove any suggestion that Yahshua is God. What is so hard to understand about the VERY clear facts learned from this single issue? Those that still believe Yahshua is God after considering this issue are quite simply refusing to bend to the facts or worship the TRUE God and His separate human Messiah. Instead, they willfully choose to worship tradition and the false god and antichrist being promoted by it!
The writer of Hebrews presents us with further irrefutable evidence that Yahshua is NOT God when he tells us Yahshua was tempted in all points as we are.
And
The fact that Messiah was not only tempted but was tempted in all points (every way, all ways, all manner) creates an immediate and severe problem for those that claim Yahshua is God.
The Holy Scriptures repeatedly describe the absolute, incomprehensible perfection of the Eternal Father and that He is totally immune from temptation - characteristics of God that those believing Yahshua to be God implicitly deny. Any that deny the absolute perfection, righteousness, and Holiness of the Living God may be beyond hope. Unfortunately, traditional Christianity does appear to deny it by claiming Yahshua - whom they claim is God - is not immune to being tempted just as often as we are (in all ways). The false teaching that Yahshua is God not only elevates a man to being God, it also blasphemously degrades God to being a man! Yet most Christians and Messianics seem incapable of recognizing the serious blasphemy this concept entails!
Please excuse my persistence on this point, but it must be hammered deeply into the mind of the reader. I sincerely regret if my comments appear offensive; however, the Scriptures also plainly teach that the truth is often an offense. Offense is unavoidable when truth is proclaimed in this present evil world. Additionally, I am of certain opinion the offense committed against God by most Christian and Messianic leaders is FAR more serious. Given the choice between offending the TRUE God or offending my fellow man, I will choose offending my fellow man every single time. So, I pray your indulgence as I proceed with my defense for God and His Son and Messiah. I will respond as Peter did in Acts to those that complain:
So here we have an immovable barrier standing in the path of those that wish to believe or teach that Yahshua is "God in the flesh." The single fact that Yahshua was tempted in all points becomes a "dooms day device" in the camp of all Trinitarians and/or proponents of the traditional "Christology" that Yahshua is God. There is no way around it other than resorting to the theological ejection button of the "mystery" or "Kabbala mysticism" defense. Any reader of Scripture that is sincere in his/her attempt to study this issue without bias need go no further than the temptation issue to prove that Yahshua is very definitely, clearly, unambiguously, without doubt, not God! If tradition, family, peer pressure, denominational fervor, reverence for your spiritual leader, or whatever tactic the devil hurls at those seeking truth still has you in its power, allow me to strive to show you what requires your serious thought.
If A is NOT equal to C, and B IS equal to C; then A is NOT equal to B!
Now, since Scripture plainly teaches
It is impossible for God (A) to be tempted (C) - A is NOT equal to C
Yet Yahshua (B) was tempted (C) - B IS equal to C
Yahshua (A) is not God (B) - A is NOT equal to B
Recalling the phrase, "What part of NO do you not understand"? I cry, "what part of tempted do you not understand?" Ok, one more time...
GOD --- CANNOT BE TEMPTED AT ALL, EVER, IMPOSSIBLE
YAHSHUA --- WAS TEMPTED - BY THE DEVIL - HERE AND MANY OTHER TIMES NOT RECORDED
THEREFORE --- YAHSHUA IS NOT GOD!
If you are annoyed at my persistence perhaps you should actually lay aside any biased notions you may have and sincerely ponder the simplicity of this issue! Your possible irritation may be a sign of the outlandish nature of the claim that Yahshua is God. Cast off the ridiculous and unexplainable "mystery" and accept instead the VERY explainable, non-mysterious truth. We that see this elementary truth never have to deal with the embarrassment of having to hit the "ejection buttons" of distorted Kabbalistic mysticism or use that "it's a mystery" to defend our beliefs.
It never ceases to amaze me how people will accept concepts, which do not originate from Scripture or must be painstakingly "derived" from distortion of alleged Scriptural "clues", that would otherwise be ridiculous anywhere else except within Traditional Christianity, even when other concepts are FAR more realistic and Scriptural. Much worse is how others actually teach these doctrines of the Anti-Messiah spirit of error. It seems the more "mysterious" and outlandish a concept is, the more open people are to accepting it. Proof of this is the latest craze of using Kabbalah mysticism as "proof" of Yahshua's deity. Kabbalistic mysticism is even more outlandish than Christianity's Traditional Trinity "mystery" and shows that the depths of desperation have yet to be reached by those refusing to release their grip on the false teaching that Messiah is God (Elohim). Read my article on Kabbalah if you want more info on this newest mind altering "drug of choice" among Messianic believers.
My fellow worshippers of the One and ONLY True Eternal Father God and followers of the man Yahshua the Messiah, upon whom God put His Spirit and bequeathed all power and authority, can see no possible way anyone can ever prove - regardless of how much "mystery" jargon or theological slight-of-hand is used - that Yahshua is God yet was tempted. If minds were truly open and tradition not so powerful this single issue would end our discussion. But, alas, I have no doubt the "mystery argument", pride, butchery of Scripture, and powers of tradition will maintain their grip on many of you. So, let us continue, and hold on because the same argument is applicable when we read of Yahshua's death because of the implication by Trinitarians that God can die - an implication even more blasphemous than that He can be tempted to sin!
Noteworthy is how Satan actually temps Yahshua to worship him! So, not only was Yahshua tempted (even though God cannot be tempted), but he was actually enticed by the devil to worship him!
Satan may be the epitome of evil but he is most certainly not stupid. He, apparently unlike the majority of traditional Christians and counterfeit Messianics, is fully aware that God cannot be tempted; thus, he would not waste his time trying! Forgive my directness, but I must ask what kind of irreverent mind could possibly believe that the prince of evil would ever dare entice the Almighty Creator into sinning or - even worse - worshipping him? Unfortunately, the powerful grip of tradition breeds Traditional Christians that are unknowingly more irreverent in ways than even the devil since, by teaching that Yahshua is God, they promote that God can be tempted and even enticed to worship by Satan! Indeed, such unwholesome thoughts about God show how very far Traditional Christian (and even common Messianic) teaching has fallen from understanding the magnificence, glory, immutability, Holiness, and infinite power of the Eternal God.
I beseech you with all sincerity and love to please pause and give the most careful thought you can to this issue. If you believe that Yahshua is God then you are openly proclaiming through that belief that the devil can tempt the Almighty Creator and even tempt God to bow down and worship him! Only The Living God, Himself, knows the eternal consequences of such blasphemy, and I pray you will put aside the Trinity idolatry of Traditional Christianity and false Messianic groups before it is too late to do so.
At this point I must raise an issue that may be even more disturbing but which must be exposed. Exactly who benefits from the teaching that Satan can tempt God? Who receives the true glory from such a belief? What individual gets the most satisfaction from persuading mankind that Satan was able to tempt the Almighty YHWH God? Therefore, who really would be behind the fanciful and wicked concept that Satan was literally tempting God when he tempted the Messiah? If you have not yet arrived at the only possible answer, perhaps I should assist you.
The obvious answer is Satan! Without a shred of doubt Satan is gloating with a triumphant and despicable grin as he looks upon a scene on earth where he is shown to be - at the very least - powerful enough to tempt the Creator and request God bow down to worship him! He and he alone receives glory when he is able, through his countless - often unintentional - agents disguised as angels of light, to persuade mankind that he possesses such power. Could someone out their that accepts the Trinity, or Deity of Yahshua please explain how God is glorified by the scenario promoted by your belief, which shows Satan exerting such power over Him! And please, don't attempt to dodge the issue by saying "God" (as Messiah) is glorified because "he" did not sin when tempted to do so, because with such a wimpy argument you must admit you DO accept and teach that Satan CAN tempt God and CAN ask God to worship Him! My friend, as I said earlier, there is NO WAY around the implications of the crucial issue! Just how much power are Trinitarians and others that believe Messiah to be "God in the flesh" willing to give Satan? If you feel Satan can tempt the Almighty and solicit worship from Him, you are LITERALLY giving Satan MORE power than God! Most assuredly Satan is very much glorified, usually unintentionally, by those promoting Yahshua is God (or God).
Yahshua rids himself of Satan by quoting Torah - a quote Christians should heed, "Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve."
Yahshua, during his temptation, made reference to Torah passages and showed himself to be the perfect obedient servant of YHWH the Living God even under temptations that none of us have probably ever had to endure. Remember, this is the only record we have of Yahshua's temptations; however, the writer of Hebrews plainly implies there were innumerable others.
Parallels Mark 9:49,50 and Luke 14:34,35
Mark 9:49,50 - 49 "For everyone will be salted with fire. 50 "Salt is good; but if the salt becomes unsalty, with what will you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another." The New American Standard Bible, (La Habra, California: The Lockman Foundation) 1977.
Luke 14:34,35 - 34 "Therefore, salt is good; but if even salt has become tasteless, with what will it be seasoned? 35 "It is useless either for the soil or for the manure pile; it is thrown out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear." The New American Standard Bible, (La Habra, California: The Lockman Foundation) 1977.
With regard to one's "light" please note:
Proverbs 4:18 - 18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day."
The actual Hebrew word translated as "just" is tzadik {tsad-deek'} and means lawful or righteous. The NASB and JPS Tanakh translate it as "righteous". Lawful means those that follow the Law or Torah; therefore, the light is only present in the Torah observant! The Judaic context of this word has always meant those that are diligent in keeping YHVH's Holy Torah! A tzadik is one that is pious and devoted to YHVH's Holy instructions (Torah means "instructions" or "teachings"). What does that obviously imply about alledged Bible-based organizations that teach the Torah (Law) has been abolished? Proverbs 4:19 gives us insight into people that do not heed or promote Torah.
Proverbs 4:19 - 19The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble."
By promoting the blasphemous idea that the Torah is abolished or optional Constantinian Christian and Messianic leaders are removing the very teachings that fuel the light - even the very fuel of Yahshua's light! It condemns those that heed their teachings to darkness and causes them to be ignorant of their constant stumbling at truth! When the light of Torah is removed, all that remains is darkness. By teaching the Torah is abolished Constantinian Christian and Messianic leaders are leading millions into, not just darkness, but ETERNAL darkness! Of course, IF and AS WE SEEK the light of Truth, Yahshua provides the means by which our weaknesses can be overcome and transgressions of Torah forgiven as we continually seek greater light from Torah (righteousness) in our lives. However, that does not remove the requirement that we sincerely strive to follow Torah (teachings, instructions) of the Creator.
Yahshua was a torah observant Jew. He was perfect in keeping Torah "without spot or blemish". There is absolutely no doubt that he would have intended his listeners to understand his teachings from a Hebraic context, and the listeners would definitely have done so since the Constantinian Christian traditions were hundreds of years away. Centuries of Christian anti-Semitism and anti-Hebraic teachings have resulted in a religion that promotes darkness and rebellion against YHVH by ignoring or discarding His instructions to man. The Christian belief that the Torah has been abolished would have been ridiculous and evil to Yahshua and his followers. The dominant Christian teaching that the Torah is abolished is in direct opposition to the very teachings of the man Christians recognize as Messiah! Note Yahshua's own, unambiguous words on this very issue which immediately follow the verse under consideration.
Matthew 5:17-19 - 17 "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. 18 "For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass away from the Law, until all is accomplished. 19 "Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and so teaches others, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
The New American Standard Bible, (La Habra, California: The Lockman Foundation) 1977.
The Holy Scriptures are bristling with countless verses that teach quite directly we are expected to strive to follow Torah. The point that must be grasped is that if one is truly following the Messiah Yahshua he/she will strive to keep YHVH's Torah. I strongly differ with those that feel Paul was anti-Torah, but even if he was, the question then becomes who do we follow, our Messiah Yahshua or Paul? Paul's teachings are meaningless if they conflict with Yahshua's.
Yahshua is the Messiah, not Paul. Yahshua is the Unique Son of YHVH, not Paul. Yahshua is the High Priest of our confession, not Paul. Yahshua is seated at the right hand of Power, not Paul. Yahshua was crucified for our sins, not Paul. Yahshua was resurrected, thus giving us hope to follow him, not Paul. Yahshua is soon to return in the glory of the Father and rule in the Kingdom of YHVH on earth from his throne in Jerusalem, not Paul.
Despite the fact Yahshua has been given infinitely more authority than Paul, many preachers brazenly suggest that Paul's teachings - or their anti-Judaic biased understanding of his teachings - actually overrule the very teachings of Messiah! This demonic deception is made even more amazing when combined with the fact that these same Christians teach Yahshua is YHVH. Therefore, by promoting the idea that Paul's teachings are the "true teachings of the church in the current dispensation of grace", they are actually exalting Paul's teachings above the one they say is YHVH! More often than not Christians and preachers are more zealous in defending Paul's supposed teachings than they are Yahshua's or even YHVH's! Many preachers and Christians openly and angrily oppose those of us that dare to consider Messiah Yahshua's teachings as more authoritative than Paul's. What madness! It is for this reason I believe that a misunderstood figure of Paul is actually the Messiah and God of many "Christian" organizations!
Those of us that recognize the eternal nature of YHVH's Torah are not really surprised by these false teachings. The reason for their need to exalt Paul's teachings over Yahshua's is obvious. If they were to consider Yahshua's teachings as more authoritative they would be forced to accept the Torah as still applicable. So, in order to perpetuate the lie of death to the Torah, Christian leaders must somehow find a theological way to eliminate the bulk of Yahshua's own teachings. They found there way through interpretation of Paul's writings in a way that is very un-Hebraic and which Paul would have strongly opposed. But again I ask, who are we to follow? If Paul did indeed teach against Torah then he is destroying what Yahshua supported and his writings should be ripped from the pages of the New Testament. But no way the Torah hating, Paul worshipping pastors of the world would ever allow that! They would much rather just ignore Yahshua's teachings and hope no one exposes their anti-Messiah (antichrist) teachings! Yes, you read correctly - antichrist teachings! By opposing the teachings of Messiah Yahshua they are opposing Messiah and are promoting an antichrist (anti-Messiah, replacement Messiah) and the mark of the Beast!
Dispensationalists are among the primary ones guilty of this Paul worship, but others join in Satan's effort. Furthermore, there is an eerie silence regarding the epistles from other writers that teach obedience to Torah. The epistles of John, Peter, Jude, and James cannot at all be interpreted as anti-Torah. In fact, they are generally very pro-Torah. No wonder some of the "church fathers" sought to keep some of these pro-Torah epistles out of the New Testament canon. Of course, when properly read from the perspective in which Paul lived and wrote - Hebraic - even his writings are proven to be very pro-Torah.
Poor Paul. His writings became a tool of Satan from the day he wrote them. I can only imagine the anguish he would feel to see the Holy Torah that he adored and honored so viciously attacked and declared dead from his very epistles.
It must be recognized that Yahshua was speaking of the Father being in heaven even while he was speaking from earth. I will often point to facts such as this knowing they may seem silly. Yet despite how some may find this trivial I feel it is actually very important to notice because of what is revealed in each case. For those that may not realize what is revealed I will briefly explain.
Very simply, statements such as this demonstrate necessary distinction between the Father (YHVH) and the Son (Yahshua) because of their different locations. Trinitarians and others that feel Yahshua is YHVH seem to want us to see the verse as saying, "...your Father which is in heaven and here with you incarnate in my human form." Clearly, regardless of what Trinitarians wish the verses to show, they actually show distinct physical separation between the Father and Son.
I do not dare ever imply that there was spiritual separation between Yahshua and YHVH (God). Indeed, it is this spiritual closeness to which Yahshua refers when he makes statements such as in John 10:30 - "I and my Father are one" and John 14:9 - "...he that hath seen me hath seen the Father..." However, being spiritually close to YHVH in no way demands physical closeness - or more to the point of Trinitarians, spiritual closeness in no way demands being of the same essence or substance. This is in large part the very sting of the current deception within Christianity.
A conditioned response has been acquired that prevents most Christians that read the Bible from being able to see the clear distinction and separation between the Father and the Son. Often, because of their religious conditioning, Trinitarians are blinded to a passage's obvious meaning or necessary inference. Thus by constantly pointing out the actual words of Yahshua in passages such as these from the Gospel of Matthew I intend to somehow reinforce that the implied misreading Trinitarians see, such as "...your Father which is in heaven and here with you incarnate in my human form" is NOT what Yahshua said or means.
Why do I do this? Well, since the deception of tradition is so powerful I feel I must do all possible to repeatedly show from Scripture what the actual relationship is between YHVH and Yahshua even if it means having to appear patronizing or sarcastic to the reader. Also, it is my prayer you will be able to tune yourself to begin to note the overwhelming scriptural evidence existing that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Yahshua is not God and that neither he nor his followers ever taught he is God. Once the spell of the Beastly great Harlot is broken you will be amazed to find that much - very much - of what you have been taught about the Bible in Constantinian Christian and Messianic organizations is absolute falsehood.
Parallels Luke 6:35,36
Luke 6:35,36 - 35 "But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men. 36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful." The New American Standard Bible, (La Habra, California: The Lockman Foundation) 1977.
As previously noted Yahshua references the Father's location - children of your Father in heaven - yet Yahshua was on earth. Also, an objective observer could rightly ask the question, "IF Yahshua is YHVH, being the SON of YHVH, and if I can also be a SON of YHVH, then why am I not YHVH?" In fact, certain cults that teach we can all be God use passages such as this to convince themselves and others that we all can become like God.
Regarding Yahshua's teachings, note the following passages (there are others) from Torah that were probably burning within his mind as he spoke.
Lev. 19:2 - 2 "Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy."
Lev. 20:26 - 26 "And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine."
Deut. 18:13 - 13 "Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God."
Psalms 145:9 - 9 "The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works."
Also note that, as usual, Yahshua was teaching Torah! Psalms is in the Tanakh and "Torah" often encompasses all YHVH's teachings constituting the Tanakh. It must be realized that virtually everything Yahshua ever taught (and his apostles) was taken from the Torah (teachings, instructions) of YHVH. There is very little in the way of teaching that is "new" within the New Testament. Even Yahshua's sacrificial mission is found in the Tanakh in Isaiah 53, etc.
Most Christians because of disrespect of Tanakh, which was the Holy Scripture used by Yahshua and ALL his followers, fail to realize this and seem convinced that the New Testament was a "new" teaching and the basis for a "new" religion. This is absolute hogwash. The primary items that are "new" are the fulfillments. The ethical teachings and concepts of YHVH are exactly as they were taught in Torah. As a matter of fact even the way of salvation was already given in the Tanakh. The truth was already established; however, most religious leaders of Yahshua's day (just like our day) did not properly understand this truth. In their day it was applied too strictly. In our day it isn't applied at all! Pastors of our day are far worse because they openly reject Torah. At least the religious leaders of Yahshua's day respected God's Eternal instructions (Torah). Also, pastors today reject the actual Messiah of Scripture and promote an antichrist (replacement Messiah) instead!
The reason for the ignorance of the Tanakh is directly attributable to Christian teachers that openly promote the concept that knowledge of the Tanakh is unnecessary for "salvation" in our current "dispensation of grace". Such false teachers are due the wrath YHVH will inflict upon them for profaning His Holy Word.
It is a Scriptural fact that every one of the 51 uses of the term "Scripture" in the New Testament always refer to the Tanakh (irreverently called the "Old" Testament). At the very least, 50 out of 51 refer to the Tanakh. I detailed this fact in the article on the True Rulebook of the Kingdom. Nevertheless, the vast majority of those claiming to follow Messiah willfully ignore the Tanakh.
Here we have another example of Yahshua referencing your Father in heaven while he was speaking from earth - distinction as usual is shown between Yahshua and YHVH (the Father). Also, as is often the case, Yahshua points out YHVH is our Father as well as his. Both of these phrases dictate, using common sense, that Yahshua is NOT God (YHVH).
The term "secret" according to the original Greek, means "hidden" or "concealed". Yet Yahshua was in plain view, certainly not hidden or concealed; therefore, Yahshua cannot possibly be God! And why is the Father concealed? The answer can be found in the Torah.
Exodus 33:20-23 - 20 But He said, "You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live!" 21 Then the Lord said, "Behold, there is a place by Me, and you shall stand there on the rock; 22 and it will come about, while My glory is passing by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by. 23 "Then I will take My hand away and you shall see My back, but My face shall not be seen."
The New American Standard Bible, (La Habra, California: The Lockman Foundation) 1977.
The Eternal Father makes it crystal clear that "no man can see Him and live..." yet Christians completely ignore this unambiguous proclamation by the Eternal YHVH. YHVH's infinite holiness makes it impossible for humans to physically and literally see Him. He is so far exalted above our defiled, sinful characters that being in His presence spells certain and immediate death! There are those that suggest various verses of Scripture prove YHVH was seen. This misconception is covered in an article dedicated to that issue. The primary point is that YHVH, Himself, cannot be seen by human eyes; however, emissaries, agents, representatives, and the like can be seen and can carry YHVH's authority. It is these emissaries that are sometimes seen. This, along with the fact most "sightings" were in visions and dreams has always been the standard Hebraic understanding before, during, and after Yahshua walked the earth. As usual, however, Christianity turned the previously accepted belief that Yahshua and his disciples had upside down in order to define the doctrines to fit the "new" Roman religion being invented in the 4th century. I comment further regarding this when discussing 1 John 4:12 as well as an article on whether or not God has ever been LITERALLY seen by man.
YHVH is a Spirit.
If Yahshua is YHVH, then the this statement by Yahshua and the one previously quoted from Ex. 33:20-33 by YHVH are false. We discussed in the comments regarding Matthew 4:1-10 how Satan has already persuaded most "believers" that YHVH can be tempted; thus, it is but a very small step for Satan to also persuade mankind that YHVH can lie when He (YHVH) says, "no man can see me and live". Those that persists in teaching that YHVH has been - or can be - seen are portraying Him as either senile or a liar. When YHVH says it is impossible for humans to physically see Him, He "says what He means, and means what He says." Since the day of Satan's initial lie in the Garden of Eden he has constantly sought to refute or change YHVH's statements and is still doing so through false teachers that sadly dominate Traditional Christian and Messianic organizations.
Secondly, all that follow the teachings of The Father are counted as His sons that will follow Yahshua in resurrection to eternal life if they endure to the end and are vigilant in their efforts to obey the One True Elohim just as Yahshua did. Of course, Yahshua is THE Son and "firstborn among many brethren" (Rom. 8:29).
Yahshua's words here also reminds us of how the Father is aware of all we say, do, or even think no matter how "secret" we may feel our thoughts or actions are. Yahshua's thoughts, as well as those of his listeners, would have been swimming with numerous passages from the Holy Scriptures they adored - the same Scriptures Christian teachers (with their invention of today's "dispensation of grace") try to persuade us are no longer applicable. Example passages from the Tanakh indicating how the Father is aware of all secret things are:
Psalms 17:3
3You have visited me at night, probed my mind,
You have tested me and found nothing amiss;
I determined that my mouth should not transgress.
4As for man's dealings,
in accord with the command of Your lips,
I have kept in view the fate of the lawless.
Tanakh, The Holy Scriptures, (Philadelphia, Jerusalem: Jewish Publication Society) 1985.
Psalms 44:20-21
20 If we had forgotten the name of our God,
Or extended our hands to a strange god;
21 Would not God find this out?
For He knows the secrets of the heart.
The New American Standard Bible, (La Habra, California: The Lockman Foundation) 1977.
Psalms 139
(This entire Psalm is devoted to God's Omnipresence and Omniscience)
1 For the leader. Of David. A psalm.
O Lord, You have examined me and know me.
2 When I sit down or stand up You know it;
You discern my thoughts from afar.
3 You observe my walking and reclining,
and are familiar with all my ways.
4 There is not a word on my tongue
but that You, O Lord, know it well.
5 You hedge me before and behind;
You lay Your hand upon me.
6 It is beyond my knowledge;
it is a mystery; I cannot fathom it.
7 Where can I escape from Your spirit?
Where can I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend to heaven, You are there;
if I descend to Sheol, You are there too.
9 If I take wing with the dawn
to come to rest on the western horizon,
10 even there Your hand will be guiding me,
Your right hand will be holding me fast.
11 If I say, "Surely darkness will conceal me,
night will provide me with cover,"
12 darkness is not dark for You;
night is as light as day;
darkness and light are the same.
13 It was You who created my conscience;
You fashioned me in my mother's womb.
14 I praise You,
for I am awesomely, wondrously made;
Your work is wonderful;
I know it very well.
15 My frame was not concealed from You
when I was shaped in a hidden place,
knit together in the recesses of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed limbs;
they were all recorded in Your book;
in due time they were formed,
to the very last one of them.
17 How weighty Your thoughts seem to me, O God,
how great their number!
18 I count them - they exceed the grains of sand;
I end - but am still with You.
19 O God, if You would only slay the wicked -
you murderers, away from me! -
20 who invoke You for intrigue,
Your enemies who swear by You falsely.
21 O Lord, You know I hate those who hate You,
and loathe Your adversaries.
22 I feel a perfect hatred toward them;
I count them my enemies.
23 Examine me, O God, and know my mind;
probe me and know my thoughts.
24 See if I have vexatious ways,
and guide me in ways everlasting.
Tanakh, The Holy Scriptures, (Philadelphia, Jerusalem: Jewish Publication Society) 1985.
Jeremiah 17:10
10 I, the Lord, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give to each man according to his ways,
According to the results of his deeds.
The New American Standard Bible, (La Habra, California: The Lockman Foundation) 1977.
Jeremiah 23:24
24Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
Hebrews 4:13
13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.
The New American Standard Bible, (La Habra, California: The Lockman Foundation) 1977.
Revelations 2:23
23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
Regarding rewarding God makes it clear it is He that is to be honored...
1 Samuel 2:30
30...For I honor those who honor Me, but those who spurn Me shall be dishonored.
Tanakh, The Holy Scriptures, (Philadelphia, Jerusalem: Jewish Publication Society) 1985.
Yahshua constantly pointed out to his listeners that YHVH is "your" Father. All that strive to live faithfully to YHVH's teachings are counted as His children.
It is likely Messiah had this verse among those in his mind as he made the statement above:
Psalms 38:9 - 9 "Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee."
It is perhaps more clearly rendered from the JPS Tanakh (Psalms 38:10 in the Tanakh) as 10 "O Lord, You are aware of all my entreaties; my groaning is not hidden from You."
The Father knows our needs and knew of the troubles of Messiah as he suffered.
Psalms 69:17-21
17 And do not hide Thy face from Thy servant,
For I am in distress; answer me quickly.
18 Oh draw near to my soul and redeem it;
Ransom me because of my enemies!
19 Thou dost know my reproach and my shame and my dishonor;
All my adversaries are before Thee.
20 Reproach has broken my heart, and I am so sick.
And I looked for sympathy, but there was none,
And for comforters, but I found none.
21 They also gave me gall for my food,
And for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
The New American Standard Bible, (La Habra, California: The Lockman Foundation) 1977.
Psalms 69 is considered a Messianic Psalm largely because of verse 21, but what about the rest of the Psalm? Traditional Christian teachers are very adept at picking and choosing selected verses out of the context of the Holy Scriptures (shredding the context of Scripture). The book of Psalms is particularly subject to this. The reason becomes clear when one actually reads the Psalms because, if contextual interpretation is used, they very strongly endorse the servant nature of Yahshua and show that he is clearly not YHVH. For instance, if one goes just a few verses before verse 21 to verse 17 you see the speaker referring to himself as YHVH's servant. I will not elaborate here; however, I hope to elsewhere as I expose clear failure by Christian theologians to see the obvious nature of Yahshua as a man serving and worshipping the same G-d (Elohim) that we should, which is NOT the G-d Trinitarians worship. I intend to also show how, when the context of many Messianic verses is considered, there is no way the Messiah being prophesied can possibly be YHVH.
Please read the Psalms - all of them. If you do you will not be able to escape the fact that Yahshua was the perfectly obedient servant of Almighty YHVH and never hinted at the fact he was YHVH. I am constantly puzzled how anyone that reads the Psalms can possibly accept the false teaching that Yahshua is God. My only conclusion is that very few actually ever read the Psalms, just as very few actually ever read the Tanakh, which they irreverently call the "Old" Testament.
Parallel Luke 11.1
Our Father ... in heaven - yet Yahshua was on earth; therefore, common sense demands one understand that Yahshua is NOT God.
"For THINE (the Father's) is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory..." Yahshua no doubt had the following verse from the Tanakh in mind as well as countless others.
1Ch 29:11 - 11 "Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all."
Of course the Father has given all authority and power to the Son, Messiah Yahshua. But just as Joseph wasn't Pharaoh though he had the Pharaoh-given authority to act on behalf of Pharaoh, Yahshua is not YHVH though he has YHVH-given authority to act on behalf of YHVH. And, like Joseph, this is because a higher authority GAVE him the power. The One giving and the one to whom it is given cannot be the same if common sense is used.
Genesis 41:39-44 - "39And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: 40Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. 41And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. 42And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; 43And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt. 44And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt."
Thy Father - again - concealed ("your Father who is in secret"); yet Yahshua was not concealed; therefore, Yahshua is not God.
Parallel Luke 12:24-31
Luke 12:24-31
24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? 25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? 26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? 27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? 29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. 30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. 31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
Your Heavenly Father - yet Yahshua was on earth.
Yahshua probably had in mind the following verses:
Job 35:11 - 11 Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
Job 38:41 - 41 Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
Psalm 104:11 - 11 They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
Psalm 104:27,28 - 27 These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season.
28 That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
Psalm 145:15,16 - 15 The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season.
16 Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
A point most miss because of translator bias relates to verse 33 where Yahshua commands, 33"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." The verb "seek" is an imperative, meaning it is a command - not a suggestion. Also it refers to continuous action; therefore, a more precise translation would be "continue seeking first the Kingdom of God..." Some Bible versions are filled with verb mistakes similar to this. Although I feel the King James Version is an outstanding achievement, it is nonetheless particularly infested with such verb errors. The dominant theology of the King James Bible translators was Calvinism, and their bias is often seen in their failure to translate verbs properly in the continuous tense. They do this because Calvinist and "Once Saved, Always Saved" proponents feel there is nothing one has to "continue" in order to remain saved. In fact, the only thing they often "continue" in is sinful living with no fear of YHVH whatsoever.
Matthew 7:7 is another classic example of the mistranslation of the verbs. The King James Version reads:
Matthew 7:7 - 7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
The New American Standard version from an initial glance appears to render the verse the same:
Matthew 7:7 - 7 "Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.However, translator notes for the verse clearly indicate the verbs "ask", "seek", and "knock" all imply continuous action. The best translation for this particular verse is the Jewish New Testament. In that version Matthew 7:7 reads:
The New American Standard Bible, (La Habra, California: The Lockman Foundation) 1977.
Matthew 7:7-9 - 7 "Keep asking, and it will be given to you; keep seeking, and you will find; keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you.8 For everyone who keeps asking receives; he who keeps seeking finds; and to him who keeps knocking, the door will be opened.
The Jewish New Testament, (Clarksville, MD: Jewish New Testament Publications) 1996.
For those anti-Semites among you that think negative thoughts every time you see anything "Jewish", you should know the Holman Christian Standard Bible version of the New Testament renders the verbs exactly as the Jewish New Testament. The NCSB is a new translation, and a relatively good one at that.
The Calvinistic "perseverance of the saints" or "once saved always saved" doctrine is severely injured if the true continuous meaning of verbs such as these are correctly rendered, because it clearly implies one must continue in their active faith. These continuous tense verbs are all throughout the KJV New Testament yet almost never properly translated because of the Calvinist beliefs of the translators. They intentionally mistranslated in order to sway the reader towards their dangerous doctrine. It is no surprise that many of the KJV-onlyist are Calvinist or Once-Saved-Always-Saved proponents. The actual continuous intent of the verbs is very damaging to those that believe a one time "acceptance of Jesus as your personal savior" is all that is required for salvation. I will not dwell on this issue; however, I list excellent web sites and books that expose the false teaching of once-saved-always-saved and the unscriptural doctrines that claim the name of their murderous "father", Calvin (read about Calvin's murder of Michael Servetus).
Parallel Luke 11:13
Luke 11:13 -
13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
Again, your Father which is in heaven - yet Yahshua was on earth; therefore, common sense dictates Yahshua cannot possibly be God. Yahshua and his listeners may have been thinking of the following verses regarding "being evil" and the mercy of Yahshua's Elohim and our Elohim.
Jeremiah 17:9,10 - 9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Ps 86:5 - 5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.
Ps 103:11-13 - 11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. 12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. 13Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. 14For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
Parallel Luke 13:24-27
Luke 13:24-27 - 24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: 26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. 27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
Verse 21 in Matthew once again shows the distinction of the Father in heaven while Yahshua was speaking from earth. However, the primary point I wish to make regarding these verses is the strong pro-Torah message Yahshua is making.
Those that unintentionally promote the goals of evil with their promotion of the "once saved-always saved" deception of the serpent have a problem with this verse because it very clearly implies the ones that cry, "Lord, Lord have we not..." considered themselves "saved". Verse 22 leaves little doubt of this:
Matthew 7:22 - 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
The "eternal security/OSAS" proponents attempt to extract themselves from the clear words of our lord by claiming that since he said, "I never knew you" they were never actually saved. However, they deceptively avoid the clear definitions in the New Testament of what it truly means to "know" God and also (as usual) completely ignore the context. The definition of "knowing" God is found in 1 John 2:3-5.
1 John 2:3-5 - 3 And by this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 The one who says, "I have come to know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; 5 but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him:
The New American Standard Bible, (La Habra, California: The Lockman Foundation) 1977.
Clearly to "know" God is to keep the commandments of God (Torah!); therefore, those that rebelliously refuse to keep the Torah of God do not "know" Him and will be told, "Depart from me, ye that work iniquity (lawless)!"
Further confirmation of this is found in the very term translated "iniquity" in the KJV. The New American Standard Version and others more appropriately translate the term "lawlessness". Since Torah is "law", the lawless are those that do not keep Torah. In fact from the following verse the point is further confirmed.
1 John 3:4 - 4 Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.
The New American Standard Bible, (La Habra, California: The Lockman Foundation) 1977.
1 John 3:4 - 4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
The Greek word translated "lawlessness" in the NASB and "transgression of the law" in the KJV is one and the same word - anomia - and is shown from Strong's lexicon to be:
458 anomia {an-om-ee'-ah}
from 459; TDNT - 4:1085,646; n f
AV - iniquity 12, unrighteousness 1, transgress the law + 4160 1, transgression of the law 1; 15
1) the condition of without law
1a) because ignorant of it
1b) because of violating it
2) contempt and violation of law, iniquity, wickedness
This is precisely the same Greek word used in Matthew 7:23 where we hear Yahshua say, "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness (anomia)." In fact, most cases of the word "iniquity" in the KJV are the same Greek word.
I will point out one more important proof. In Matthew 13 Yahshua is describing the time when he will send forth angels to gather the wicked out of his Kingdom.
Matthew 13:39-43
39 and the enemy who sowed them is the devil, and the harvest is the end of the age; and the reapers are angels. 40 Therefore just as the tares are gathered up and burned with fire, so shall it be at the end of the age. 41 The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness, (anomia) 42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire; in that place there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.
The New American Standard Bible, (La Habra, California: The Lockman Foundation) 1977.
Here we have another instance of the use of the Greek term anomia. The "lawless" (Torah violators) are among those that are gathered and cast into the fires of eternal destruction! A secondary, yet important teaching, relates to WHERE the Kingdom will be. Note that the wicked are gathered OUT OF the Kingdom, and the righteous, who were NOT gathered will THEN "shine forth as the sun IN the Kingdom." Obviously, since the wicked and the righteous are right here on planet earth where the angels are sent to gather, the Kingdom from which the Torah violators are gathered is an EARTHLY Kingdom in which the righteous will then shine forth. Matthew 13:49 further solidifies this truth.
Matthew 13:49
49 So it will be at the end of the age; the angels shall come forth, and TAKE OUT the wicked FROM AMONG the righteous,
The New American Standard Bible, (La Habra, California: The Lockman Foundation) 1977.
So, we have extremely clear passages where Yahshua specifically describes how those that are "lawless" (violators of Torah) will be told to depart from his presence or gathered OUT OF his Kingdom because by their lawlessness (willful rejection of Torah) they prove to have never known YHVH! Yet, today in churches all across this land the Torah is openly preached as abolished! Thus, Christianity is largely promoting doctrine that will literally result in the Lord's stern and fatal rebuke! Christian pastors all over the world are teaching doctrine that will cause those that accept it to fail to know YHVH!
I will not dwell on it; however, the verses immediately following even further confirm this as Yahshua describes how the wise man is the one that hears and acts upon the commandments whereas the foolish man hears but does not act.
I am not alone in this interpretation. Frankly, it is an amazingly easy truth to see, and MANY are arriving at the realization that the traditional teachings of Christianity which declare the "Law" abolished threatens one's eternal destiny. It is yet one more bit of evidence that identifies the Beast that attempts to "change times and laws". Here is a link to an article on the EliYah web site that discusses precisely the same issue. He lists more passages which expand greatly upon Matt. 7:21-23. It is essential for your eternal destiny that you realize Yahshua VERY clearly and often emphasizes the need for keeping of the Torah (Law) and warned us to not practice lawlessness (anomia, violating Torah).
Parallel passage Luke 7:8-10
Luke 7:8-10 - 8 "For I, too, am a man under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to this one, 'Go!' and he goes; and to another, 'Come!' and he comes; and to my slave, 'Do this!' and he does it."9 Now when Yahshua heard this, He marveled at him, and turned and said to the multitude that was following Him, "I say to you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith."10 And when those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the slave in good health.
The New American Standard Bible, (La Habra, California: The Lockman Foundation) 1977.
This is a critical verse. The Roman centurion recognized Yahshua is under clear authority. Yahshua the Messiah answers to YHVH - his Elohim, our Elohim, the One and Only Elohim!
It was this recognition of Yahshua's purpose and role that caused Yahshua to praise the faith (understanding and trust) of the man. Christians today would not receive this praise from Yahshua because they do not recognize that he is a servant of YHVH under YHVH's authority. The majority of Christian teachers do not have the understanding of the centurion. Instead, Yahshua would sharply rebuke (and will when he returns) those that violate the most basic of all Torah commands, which teaches that YHVH is ONE Elohim and that idolatry is a serious sin. As we will show later, Yahshua calls the Shema (Dt. 6:4)- the statement declaring the ONE Elohim - the foremost of all commandments!

Many assume that the calming of the winds and the sea is proof Yahshua is YHVH because only YHVH can exert such power over creation. Well, if that is so what is to be said about the following?
These are only a few of the many miracles YHVH did through his servants. And so it was with Yahshua. Acts 2:22 clearly shows who the actual performer of miracles was.
Acts 2:22 - 22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Yahshua of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
Acts 2:22 - 22 "Men of Israel, listen to these words: Yahshua the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know
The New American Standard Bible, (La Habra, California: The Lockman Foundation) 1977.
The Scriptures clearly establish that miracles may prove one to be anointed by YHVH, but they do not prove one to be YHVH.
Parallels among the many - Mark 1:24, Mark 3:11, Mark 5:7, Luke 4:34, Luke 4:41, Luke 8:28
Mark 1:24 - 24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Yahshua of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
Mark 3:11 - 11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
Mark 5:7 - 7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Yahshua, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
Luke 4:34 - 34 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Yahshua of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
Luke 4:41 - 41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Messiah the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
Luke 8:28 - 28 When he saw Yahshua, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Yahshua, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not. The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
The Demons all knew exactly who Yahshua was, and they never addressed him as YHVH or even hint that Yahshua is actually God (Elohim). They ALL recognized Yahshua as the SON of YHVH - not YHVH the Son! There is not one single solitary example of the many recorded examples of Yahshua's casting out of demons where the demons ever even hinted that he is YHVH! NOT ONE! Using the King James Version above they addressed him as:
As a matter of fact, in Mark 5:7 the demon actually appeals to Yahshua in the name of YHVH, which again infers clear distinction between YHVH and Yahshua!
Now, PULEESE! (Southern for please) Don't you think the demons knew who Yahshua was? Do Christian and counterfeit Messianic theologians want us to believe the demons were simply unaware of the Trinity or didn't know Yahshua was YHVH? Obviously, unless one has an extremely fanciful imagination, one must admit that the demons gave no indication whatsoever that they considered Yahshua to be YHVH. They certainly did realized he was the Messiah and the Son of YHVH, but they did not show the slightest indication that they considered him to be YHVH. There reasons are simple, because Yahshua is not "God in the flesh"!
Thus, DEMONS KNOW MORE THAN CHRISTIAN PREACHERS! THEY "KNOW" YHVH AND MESSIAH FAR BETTER THAN THE PASTORS IN TODAY'S CHURCHES OR SELF-ANOINTED "RABBIS" IN COUNTERFEIT MESSIANIC ORGANIZATIONS! I feel that is because many of today's Christian/Messianic leaders are intentionally or unintentionally under the control of their leader - Satan, who empowers the great harlot they embrace!
As is virtually always the case - when the response of those present is recorded for us they always glorified God who had given such authority to man (Yahshua). (Matthew 15:31 Mark 2:12 Luke 5:25,26 Luke 7:16 Luke 17:15 Luke 23:47).
Matthew 15:31 - 31 Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel
Mark 2:12 - 12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion
Luke 5:25,26 - 25 And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God. 26 And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.
Luke 7:16 - 16 And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet (spokesman for God) is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
Luke 17:15 - 15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
Luke 23:47 - 47 Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.
As mentioned previously, Acts 2:22 shows why YHVH received the glory by clearly stating that the miracles Yahshua performed were actually performed through him by YHVH. Thus, YHVH is actually the one to be glorified, and those witnessing the miracles (unlike Christian pastors) realized this.
Acts. 2:22 - 22 "Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Yahshua of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
Parallel passages Mark 5:25-34 Luke 8:43-48
Mark 5:25-34 - 25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27 When she had heard of Yahshua, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. 29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. 30 And Yahshua, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? 31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. 34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
Luke 8:43-48 - 43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, 44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched. 45 And Yahshua said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 46 And Yahshua said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. 47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. 48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.
First it must be realized Yahshua truly did not know who touched him! I suppose Trinitarians would say he actually did know but was just "kidding around". By assuming he did know yet showed that he didn't the Christian promoters of the Trinity this time make YHVH out to be a liar, but that is no surprise since they also make him out to be subject to enticement to sin (Matthew 4:1-10).
Clearly Yahshua did not know who touched him; therefore, he was not "all-knowing". Thus, he is not YHVH. To those that feel he was just "kidding around" I say he will not be "kidding around" when he destroys the Beast and all that follow its anti-Messiah (replacement, false Messiah), anti-Torah doctrines.
Secondly, we have an example of a woman that because she had "faith/trust" that Yahshua was Messiah, knew that by touching the hem (fringe, tzittzit) of his garment (talit) she would be healed. Although the anti-Judaic references often fail to mention this, she was recalling to mind Malachi 4:2.
Malachi 4:2 - 2But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings;..."
The "wings" refers to the "corners" of the garment on which were tied the fringes commanded in Numbers 15:37-41. Of course, Numbers is Torah; thus, once again we see Yahshua as the Torah observant Messiah (anointed one) of God.
Numbers 15:37-41 - 37And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 38Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue: 39And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring: 40That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God. 41I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD your God."
Therefore she was showing her faith (trust) in the Messianic prophecy of Malachi and demonstrated that faith by struggling to touch the tzittzit (fringes) of Yahshua's garment. This was an act of belief by her showing she felt Yahshua was the promised Messiah of Israel. Her trust in the prophecy and Yahshua's being the Messiah was so strong she struggled through a mob, probably crawling and desperate, just so she could touch the fringes of his garment (talit) and be healed. It was for this "deed" or demonstration of her faith that she was rewarded with healing. When one recognizes the Judaic nature of the scene it becomes even more moving. This woman, which Torah declares as unclean because of her issue of blood, fought through a crowd, probably on her hands and knees to get to her Messiah - a Messiah most pastors falsely define and even deny! It is for similar reasons I fight for countless hours over my keyboard with little sleep, relaxation, or sometimes even food to proclaim and witness for the real Messiah in whatever way I can.
Furthermore, note in Numbers the reason for the fringes Yahshua's following of this commandment. The tzittzit were physical means for one to constantly be reminded of YHVH's Torah (Law):
39And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring: 40That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.
Today, Christian preachers the world over are promoting precisely what this commandment says NOT to do. By declaring the Torah no longer in effect, preachers are seeking "after their own heart and their own eyes". Today's preachers are currently teaching most "to go a whoring" by rejecting Torah and the actual Messiah of Scripture.
Yahshua was a staunchly Torah observant Jew, and he commanded us to follow him! Thus, what is the clear implication regarding the attitude we should have to the Torah?
Here, as elsewhere, he is seen as the Son of David (NOT as "God in the flesh"), which shows they recognized him as the coming Messiah. It was this faithful realization by them of Yahshua's anointing by YHVH that prompted Yahshua to reward their faith with healing.
Yahshua refers to the Spirit of the Father, which will speak in the apostles. Once again we see distinction between God and Yahshua.
Parallel passage Luke 12:8,9 and a similar passage Lu 9:26
Luke 12:8,9 - 8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: 9 But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.
Luke 9:26 - 26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.
As virtually is always the case, Yahshua shows clear distinction here between himself and YHVH. He even talks of confessing and denying before the Father - not as the Father. He would stand before - in the presence of - the Father. Why would Yahshua confess/deny before himself? If he is God, that is exactly what he would here be saying. ?? This is but one of countless proofs of how outlandishly stupid and false the "Trinity" and/or "God in the flesh" Messiah doctrine is.
Parallel Passage Luke 10:21,22
Luke 10:21,22 - 21 In that hour Yahshua rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. 22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
One of many accounts of Yahshua praying to YHVH. This is just one of countless examples of where the deity issue becomes literally ridiculous and can only be explained with the "mystery" ejection button or distorted Kabbalah mysticism by those that claim Yahshua is YHVH.
Yahshua also here clearly discusses how YHVH has given him authority. Common sense demands that the one giving and the one being given to are not the same entity.
The entire "Trinity" issue is absolutely void of any clear (or even slight) proof and relies entirely upon the fact that it can't be explained since it is a "mystery". Like another invention of the devil, evolution, the Trinity is totally dependent upon presupposition and theory that cannot be proven. Well, there is a VERY explainable alternative, but for reasons of tradition and powerfully demonic anti-Judaic deception Christians usually will not even entertain the thought that Yahshua is not YHVH. Instead they go on blissfully with a "mysterious" blind belief in something they never have and never can prove from the bulk of Scripture.
The time for nicely allowing such demonic deception has come to an end. It is time those that claim to be "Bible believers" actually start believing their Bibles!
Here is a quote from a very Messianic verse (Isaiah. 42:1-4) that shows Yahshua to be the SERVANT of God upon whom God PUT His Spirit:
Isaiah. 42:1-4 - 1Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. 2He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. 3A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. 4He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law."
Common sense demands the master and the servant are not the same individual. Also, the one putting and one on whom something is put are not the same. YHVH anointed Messiah Yahshua. The basic idea behind being anointed is that there is ONE that anoints and one that receives the anointing. In short - they are separate and distinct entities!
